How does Tao Climate measure CO2 removal?

Tao Climate uses satellite monitoring, AI analysis, and field data to verify nature-based CO2 removal (CDR) in real time. Every removal claim is validated before allocation - not estimated.

What is CDR?

CDR stands for Carbon Dioxide Removal. It refers to processes that pull CO2 directly from the atmosphere and store it durably in plants, soils, or geological formations. Tao Climate focuses on nature-based CDR: forests, wetlands, and agricultural projects verified by satellite and on-the-ground data.

How does blockchain factor in?

Blockchain is used to create finance-grade CDR asset records - tamper-proof, independently verifiable records of CO2 removal that can be tracked, audited, and retired with full transparency.

What verified removal is available?

Tao Climate offers verified CO2 removal from its available inventory, subject to availability, allocation and verification status. The relevant removal information is provided with your confirmation or certificate.

Is the AI footprint removal real?

Yes. Every Tao Carbon AI calculation uses cloud computing resources. Tao Climate estimates that footprint and lets you purchase verified CO2 removal for the AI calculation footprint. The estimate is based on Google's published Gemini benchmark and Tao Climate usage assumptions, with GCP project-level reconciliation planned as the product develops.
